Library opening

Thank you to everyone who attended the official opening of our library today. Each Nursery and Pre School child will now be able to borrow a book each week to share with their family at home. Our library contains a range of classic and modern favourites along with books which assist with those trickier questions which children sometimes ask! There is a mix of fiction and non fiction with a wide selection for our children to choose from. The library also contains a section to support parents with parental guides covering a wide range of issues. 

Dipping dinosaurs

After a Read Write Inc session looking at the d sound the children were able to join in with a dinosaur dipping activity. The children dipped the dinosaurs into different coloured paints and stomped them over some paper with a printed d on it. The children were reminded of the d sound by an adult as they joined in with the activity.

At Forest School the children have been enjoying some dinosaur themed activities too. They have been moving like dinosaurs and excavating the sand pit in search of dinosaur bones!

Ribbons

The children had lots of fun playing with ribbons in the breeze today. They watched them as the moved amongst the branches of the tree and they ran around twirling and spinning ribbons on sticks. Some play feathers were added to the hanging baskets and the children chased them as they moved across the floor in the wind.

Boomerang

This week we have been talking about toys from around the world. Today the children passed some boomerangs around the circle and we talked about where they come from and how they work. The children commented on the colours and patterns. Afterwards the children were invited to join in with a variety of activities. Many children selected to decorate their own boomerangs by making spotting patterns by finger painting.
