Boomerang

This week we have been talking about toys from around the world. Today the children passed some boomerangs around the circle and we talked about where they come from and how they work. The children commented on the colours and patterns. Afterwards the children were invited to join in with a variety of activities. Many children selected to decorate their own boomerangs by making spotting patterns by finger painting.

On a mission

Pre School had great fun this morning  dressing up as superheroes and going on a secret mission! The children were encouraged to crawl, slide and move in different ways. The children managed to make it all the way to see Mrs Flynn in the office.

 

 

 

Construction Area

The Pre School children developed a lovely construction game in the quad today. They used a variety of materials to build and balance with. The children shared the resources well and we will be developing this area further in response to their current interest in constructing.

Slithering Snakes

In Read Write Inc this week we are looking at the s sound. Today the children slithered likes snakes all around the room! They decorated some snakes with spots and stripes and explored a play tray filled with with sand and numbered snakes. 

Hedgehog House

Pre School would like to say a very big thank you for the new hedgehog house kindly donated by one of our children. The hedgehog house has been positioned in a wildlife area in the woods and we hope a hedgehog will move in soon!

Planet Earth

As we continue to think about recycling and how it can help the planet the children have been busy making planet Earth pictures. The children used pipettes to drip blue and green paint onto kitchen roll circles. This finger gym activity helped the children to strengthen the muscles in their hands as well as explore colour mixing.
